Statewide Cooperative EdD Program Recuritment
Posted by swmaesp on October 17, 2008
Dear Cooperative EdD Students and Graduates,
We are currently recruiting applicants for Cohort 7 of the MU Statewide Cooperative EdD Program that begins in Summer 2009. Because we believe you can help us identify competent educational leaders like yourself who have the desire and the ability to successfully attain an EdD, we are asking you to help us publicize the Program to potential applicants to Cohort 7. Information about the Program, including the Program brochure, a listing of course offerings, the EdD Newsletter, and contact information, is found on the ELPA website.
When you talk with friends and colleagues, we encourage you to emphasize the following aspects of the Statewide Cooperative EdD Program:
* The program is a rigorous, high-quality doctoral program with a proven track record of helping students attain their educational and career goals.
* Student advisement and most course work are accessed locally.
* The cohort design facilitates collaborative study and ongoing support.
* Papers and research projects may be applied to local settings.
* Retention and graduation rates are high.
We also ask that you relate your “personal story” with prospective applicants to help illustrate that busy practicing professionals can attain a doctoral degree and that the program content and projects
directly relate to problems of educational leadership practice.
Please feel free to refer individuals who want more information to a contact person at your local collaborating institution or to our website. Potential applicants also may contact Jude Sommerjones, EdD Program Administrative Assistant, for information and an application packet at 573.884.2163 or by e-mail. The application is also available on the ELPA website. If students have questions they may contact Dr. Jay Scribner, Department Chair, or me.
We hope that you will be able to assist us with this recruiting effort. If you have suggestions for other recruiting strategies, please do not hesitate to let us know.
Thank you in advance for your time and efforts.
Sincerely,
Joe Donaldson, Professor & Associate Director of the Statewide EdD Program in Educational Leadership Dept. of Educational Leadership & Policy Analysis
